Program Impak Maksimum..

The Program Impak Maksimum for SPM students being held on the 28th of May, 2011 for two days. A seminar on Add Math for SPM candidates was held on Sunday, from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm, at Kolej PTPL, KL Sentral.

 It took some time for me to find the place (4th floor in KL Sentral - seronok naik lrt hehehe) but the program went well throughout the day. The speaker was Puan Gan Fei Ting, and she is from our neighbouring school, SMK Convent Bukit Nanas.

       

The objective was to review the concepts of Add Maths topics and improve question answering skills as well as provide tips on marking schemes for their exam papers. This program covered a few topics taught in Form 4 and Form 5 Add Maths syllabus.

Thank you so much to the counsellors, the PIBG, the teachers, and the students for all the help and support throughout this program. We won't be there without everyone of you :) Thank you, thank you, thank you. and to Puan Gan, hope we keep in touch...dtgla St John and we can have lunch together :)

Remember, exercises and guidance from teachers are essential for improvement.

2011 Form 5 Add Maths Project :)

I believe that all the Form 5 Add Maths students must be struggling right now to solve all the problems given :p...Don't worry...I guess by completing those questions, many fields of Add Maths can be learned..which features a huge amount of resources on how to do paper work efficiently...Teacher harap semua dah start buat la kan...

First of all, remember that there is no standard marking scheme for the Add Maths Project. The marks given most likely based on your explanation and workings...and follow all these steps;

Step 1: Begin by deciding WHICH QUESTION you wish to do..oh yeah..1st question is compulsory for 5J and 5O. Full stop...

Step 2:  Complete enough preliminary investigation to confirm that the topic is appropriate for your level of add maths understanding .. prioritize them...jangan kelam kabut okay..

Step 3: Now, begin your research..GOOGLE to make your life easier... Demonstrate your answers using table, diagram,graph, interactive explanation, different software, a physical model or something else...use your own creativity.

Step 4: Discuss your answers with your friends or me from time to time. Do not wait until the due date. 

Step 5: Complete you project using an interesting and motivational way!

          But, take note..you guys are very lucky, where you can always share your thoughts about things related to education. However, I’m against plagiarism and please do not copy your friend’s answers. Good luck with it, I am sure you'll enjoy it and hopefully it will give you some ideas on how to use Add Maths in daily life :)

Well hello again...

I realised that I haven't posted in a while..However I do have a semi-valid excuse heheheh mainly because of the massive mountain of work I have.. The Form 4 and the Form 5 students had their big exams for the past 2 weeks. I'm now marking all your papers and it seems like an eternity work...fuhhh..

Oh yeah..In further news..yesterday was nice :) It was SJI Teacher's Day Celebration and I sang 'Kau Ilhamku' with my students, Ariff, Izzam, Suhaiman, Raimi and Asyraaf..Aw! Thanks for the encouragement guys ;) I know if it wasn't for you guys on my side practising this song, I would not have made it through! sedap tak sedap itu lain cerita...hehhehee at least kita try! 

And because of that, I'll share with all of you who are reading this, the vid of 6 of us practising that song sampai hilang2 suara,and came down with a very bad sore throat that morning.. heheheh jangan gelak okay!

My Sister: Gotong Royong? U mean mop lantai and cuci longkang?

Teacher  : Yup. Kind of.
My Sister: Wow,now I'm impressed..Sabtu okay..

Yeah I'm impressed as well...Hehehe....It’s been a while since I was a part of a gotong royong. Even then, gotong royong to me means picking up litter and trash with the rest of my schoolmates...

Okay, back to the main point..The school decided to use yesterday the long-awaited Saturday- and it was school day again.. as our gotong royong. The day was filled with cleaning the school's compoud, decorating class notice board and, and ehm ehm and camwhoring..oh yeah and singing japanese songs (or korean, seriously im not sure..) ..hehehehhe. 

We’ve had a lot of fun working together to clean the class, to create humour for ourselves and to spice up the day. Teacher tau most of you memang rajin and creative but I guess you guys lack of motivation to do so.... Take note on that : RAJIN & CREATIVE... tapi...bla bla bla bla.. membebel lagi..

However, I’m glad that the gotong royong received such good response from my students. For those who came and help me this morning, THANKS A LOT! You guys know who you are (actually they asked me to mention their names in my blog)..heheheh
 I had a great day bersih kelas, gunting-gunting, lekat-lekat, bersenamrobik,  n makan nasi lemak!!  hehehe

Somehow I feel it’s more of a teacher-students day than anything else..

Ok enough of babbling, I know it’d be a good day to take pictures of the students while they’re doing their work...So here's a little compilation of all of my personal favorites … heheheh sorry ada 2 jer..

Dear Students :)
When the exams are just round the corner and you don't have enough time to prepare...duh..and with less than few days left, it’s time to focus on what you can do to get yourself to be prepared...here’s some advice to help make you guys feel less stressful in ADD MATHS revision. 
Teacher pernah buat n it works all the time :) TRY IT.

Make keywords, and simple notes because it means that half the cram work is done when you write these...
Eg: You can use these key points like "ALL SCIENCE TEACHERS ARE CLEVER" (nak jugak teacher ni kan :p heheheh) to memorize the quadrant signs for Trigonometric Function...formula for +ve ,-ve of sine, cosine, and tangent in every quadrant....
ehm..still x sure? here it goes....

Never prepare very long notes that you cannot go through before the test or in shorter period of time (I did this all the time, then end up tulis

Avoid last minute work! enough said

During study sessions, try to focus on questions that most prob come out in the exam. Slalu teacher ada cakap skit skit...:P well, I can't guarantee that  it's 100% true..
These are clues that this info will appear on the exam heheehe..Contoh, if teacher kata Paper 2 confirm ada keluar Simultaneous Equation and Quadratic Function, pandai pandai la baca kan...hehehe hope you guys know this...

And don't forget to do a lot of Add Maths practises especially on SPM Past Years' Questions..Sila beli and dapatkan the orange PELANGI book -compilation of past years' questions.

All in all, don't panic and jangan lupa doa after each prayer....Insyallah everything will turn out well :) ..Happy studying and all the best in the coming exam ..GOOD LUCK! CAIYOK!

Kursus @ Vacation Part 1

Bonjour bonjour.
It feels so long since I’ve updated my blog.  If you guys have noticed, I was kind of silent, and was not really replying comments for the past few week. I went for a course for 3 days in Port Dickson held by JPWPKL. 

Hotel Selesa Beach Resort, Port Dickson..lawa kan?

The course was packed with info and it was fun as well. I was very tired but pump up with energy after the course. Schedule was pack, and there was little time to mandi laut play around.

With the help of the organiser and the speakers especially (Datin Khairiah)-she's hillarious, the course was entertaining and much more informative. As any seminars/ courses, I’m able to make new friends that shares the same interest and expectation in school.

Now, I’m back in KL.  Kind of reluctant to start work again last Thursday heheheh. . but yeah, now I’m back to work, and life goes on… 


And today, since exam is around the corner, I will share u guys with exam questions which I got long time ago..(dengan harapan yg menggunung tinggi, i hope my form 5 students will find this useful) tadaa......cepat print cepat print!!
